HAVE you ever heard of the term, ‘New Indian cinema’? If not, then drop in at the Besant Nagar Beach on December 9. You can see ‘New Indian cinema’ come alive.
FilmCamp.TV, a Bangalore based community that was formed two months ago teaches, produces and screens ‘New Indian cinema’. Now the community is coming to Chennai for the first time with their 1:1 workshop.
“During the workshop, participants in groups not exceeding five, will write and rewrite a script, make a storyboard, shoot it, edit and re-edit it to a one-minute film. At our Chennai 1:1 Workshop, we will help the participants to make 4-5 short films,” says one of the founders of FilmCamp.TV, Sanjay Nambiar, a software engineer and US trained feature filmmaker.
Speaking about their upcoming trip to Chennai, Sanjay says, “we want to conduct FilmCamp.TV’s 1:1 workshop and prove that even a novice can make a short film in a day.” FilmCamp.TV began as an online and offline community for filmmakers through education, empowerment and online distribution.
It was founded by a team of four IT and multimedia professionals, Hrish Thota, Sanjay Nambiar, Hari Prasad and Raghunandan Kaanadka who don’t pay lip-service to their love for cinema.
Then what they mean by the term ‘New Indian cinema’. “It is neither Bollywood or Hollywood cinema nor what we see on television or even the art cinema. It is a unique cinema that explores stories never attempted before where the filmmaker invests more in the writing, spends less in production and fine- tunes the story during the edit,” explains Sanjay.
At the camp, participants have to identify a theme, script it, shoot and then edit it to a final product. Equipments like camera and computers to edit will be provided for each group.
Anybody over 12 years of age can register for the workshop. Registration fee is Rs 1000/-, which will also enable you to get a membership in FilmCamp.TV.(indian express)
they have introduced FilmCamp.tv a place to nurture independent filmmakers. They have launched FilmCamp.tv with a bang event, organizing a film school for one day, where people will be making a one minute film, today.
The idea is pretty cool. You start today morning, write a script with the help of pros, do the story boarding, shoot it with the camera they provide and edit it on the Apple Macs that are stationed at the venue. And all this for 1000 bucks. Dirt cheap, and worth every rupee for that first movie you make and the experience you get.
Apart from conducting such one day camps, they are also trying to unite all forms of indie fests in B’lore. Which is a brilliant thought, as it will lead to a good pool of members - the foundation for future.

thank you friends aswin and vipin for helped me in this attempt.ans sure my best friend and brother benny chettan who directed to mein this event.
